The first one is a marvelous handmade piece carved from both sides, or painted in auspicious symbols or nature scenes. The screens can come in one piece, a pair, four pieces, eight pieces etc, and they are mainly used to dived space and separate the different sections in the house or even in the garden.
The window carvings are also hand carved and come in different shapes. The carvings generally symbolize Chinese beliefs such as Buddha, luck and other propitious symbols.
